Robin Devine
Founder, CEO, RMT, LDT, CLT, Brain Therapy
Robin Devine, RMT, CLT, LDT, is a 2200 hour Massage Therapist who main focus is Lymph Drainage Therapy, Lymphedema Therapy, Brain Therapy, Brain Reflex Therapy, and Craniosacral Therapy. Robin traveled to Thailand in 2005 and trained in Thai Massage techniques. While there, she developed an intense desire to explore non-traditional forms of Massage Therapy, and the vital importance of overall body wellness. Thanks to this insight, Robin has built on her foundational training, and has expanded her therapeutic tools to include Lymph Drainage Therapy, Brain Therapy and Brain Reflex Therapy with the Chikly Health Institute, as well as Craniosacral Therapy through the Upledger institute. She is currently only 1 of 10 therapists in the City of Calgary who have trained to the advanced level of Lymph Drainage Therapy, as well as a Certified Lymphedema Therapist, enjoying working with more complex cases of lymphatic instability. Robin graduated from Foothills College of Massage Therapy in 2002 with 2200 hours of training. Once completed, she was hired by Foothills College to become an instructor and student supervisor, where she taught a combination of science and hands on classes for 6 years. Throughout her career, she has worked in a massage therapy clinic, chiropractic clinic, as a mobile therapist in Calgary, as well as working from home for many years.  She has taught with MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy in Calgary for 3 years for both their full  first and second year curriculums, as well as with Mount Royal University teaching in their 2200 hour diploma program both in their classrooms and in their practicum clinic. Robin currently teaches Lymph Drainage Therapy 1, 2, 3, and the Chikly Lymphedema Therapy Certification with the Chikly Health Institute, across Canada, United States, and around the world. Robin has found a lot of success in working with Dr. Chikly’s Brain Therapy and Reflex Work.   This includes gentle hands-on techniques that release restrictions and adhesions in specific parts of the brain, spinal cord and surrounding structures. Specificity can be attuned to individual nuclei, bony landmarks and structures of the brain. She has trained with Dr.Chikly to work specifically with the Primo-vascular System, and learning osteopathic/lymphatic techniques to help treat Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia and Multiple Sclerosis.  A new passion has been understanding and to help to integrate Neonatal/Brith Reflexes for clients to help alleviate multitudes of conditions and afflictions. Her passion and determination has led to the fruition and establishment of the Lymph Balance Centre. Bringing together Lymph Drainage Therapists in one location, the many modalities of individual therapists, to create a centre of healing. Aside from her passion for health and wellness, Robin is our Dot Artist and teaches Dot Art Classes, Crochet Baskets and leads our Lymphedema Support Group at the Cove, as well enjoys traveling and the craziness that is life with her husband and 3 children. Fiona McDevitt, PT
Physiotherapist, CLT, CST-T, MLD
Over the years Fiona has gained a great appreciation of the human body and its capacity for healing. This has led to the development of her motto – “Balance your Body, Balance your Health”. Connecting to the patient through the fascia, which is the membrane surrounding every structure in the body, makes Craniosacral Therapy her main passion, with its gentle touch, yet profound effects on the fascia and nervous system. This system manages and moderates our whole being, emotionally and physically. Work experience, Life Coaching and Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) qualifications provide Fiona with great skills in supporting people through deep emotional issues such as grief/anxiety/stress/surgeries/trauma etc. By offering the body a safe space to heal and repair, Fiona supports clients to discover the root cause of their persistent issues or pain and finds gentle ways to work through it with them. Of special interest to Fiona is working with Mums and Babies (and Dad’s when they can attend). The combination of Craniosacral and Physiotherapy skills really supports parents and babies during pregnancy and those tricky first few months. If a baby is in any way unsettled, feeding, sleeping, crying issues, Tongue Tie or Torticollis, then Craniosacral Therapy really helps. Involving the parents in the treatment empowers them as the they adjust to caring for their new-born baby. Fiona’s physiotherapy knowledge benefits the parents by helping with feeding, posture, pain or stiffness, and demonstrating stretches for Baby. Physiotherapy enhanced her interest in Posture and then bra-fitting for ladies due to the many effects a poor fit has on the woman’s neck and shoulders, including new Mums. Recently in 2018 Fiona added Manual Lymph Drainage Therapy (MLD) to her skillset (Vodder Training). This journey into the Lymph system complements the Craniosacral System by completing the understanding of the cycle of fluid in the body. We are 90% water so what better way to help the body heal than balancing the fluid systems. Through the Lymph work Fiona discovered her physiotherapy skills also came to the fore as it helps reduce pain and stiffness, increases range of motion and improves function for those affected by Cancer. This led her to train in the Pink Ribbon Programme, a rehabilitation exercise regime, and classes, for those after Breast Cancer Surgery. However, it is suitable for anyone with limited range of movement and function of the shoulder and arm. An interest in those with disability led her to being the physiotherapist for the first ever Mixed Ability Rugby Team in Ireland. Her team recently won the Mixed Ability Rugby World Cup! This wonderful experience has given her great insights into all levels of disability and what is possible given the right environment or circumstances. It also underlined the fact that we humans are all the same, just with our own unique skill set. Fiona enjoys working in a team environment. While celebrating each person’s own unique skill set, the knowledge shared with colleagues and clients benefits the clients as they have access to an array of complementing therapies and therapists. When not at work, Fiona enjoys exploring her passion for horses, the outdoors and rugby and always enjoys spending time with friends. To book in with Fiona please call us at 403-472-3100 or book online if you are an existing patient!
